Clean Clutter: Eliminate the Overwhelm

Do you get overwhelmed when you clean clutter?   The mess is so big, you don’t know if you’ll ever get it all cleaned up.  If this is the case, I have a solution that will reduce overwhelm, along with this it serves as a maintenance plan.  The solution is clean as you go.   I’ll tell you how it was introduced into my life and how to use it.

One of my chores when I was a child was washing dishes.  I absolutely dreaded it, and to this day I still do.  One day I was so frustrated because there an outrageous number of dishes piled up in the sink.  I was upset, afraid I would never get them finished.  My dad came into the kitchen and gave me  a valuable tip to clean clutter.  “If you wash them as you they get dirty, there won’t be so much to do later.”   I thought to myself, “this man is a genius.”

The principle is quite self explanatory.  Clean clutter as you go.   When things get dirty clean them. When something is no longer used, throw it in the trash, recycle or donate. Simple right?  You would be amazed how many people know this stuff, but don’t use it.  Are you one of those people?   If so, start right away to clean as you go.

Clean clutter when you are in the kitchen preparing a meal.  Wash the dirty dishes while you are waiting for something to done cooking.   If you make a spill, grab a rag and clean it up.  Take the trash out when it gets full.   Small simple tasks done on routine basis make an incredible difference.

This valuable life lesson to clean clutter can be used in your life today!  Each time you make a mess or no longer need something, clean it up!   If you can’t do it right away do it before bedtime.   Try it out for yourself, and see difference it makes in your life.
