The first step to declutter your home is to pick an area and dump everything out of it.  We’ll use the kitchen pantry for instance.  All the items in the pantry get pulled out of the pantry.  No further action maybe taken until everything is out. We are now ready for the next step.

Toss out any items that are no longer useful, expired, broken, etc. to declutter your home.  Still using the kitchen pantry for the example; we would pitch food that is expired and questionable, foods that will never be eaten. any items broken, chipped and etc.  Go through the entire pile until all of the trash has been tossed.  Now we are ready to organize.

The third step to declutter your home is to group similar items together.  You can put them together in piles, stacks, or alternatively you can grab a  labeled cardboard box. Go throughout the whole pile of items and sort them out by grouping them together.

The final step to declutter your home is to assign a home, and place items where they belong.     It is incredibly important to maintain this once established.  You may want to label cabinets, drawers and other storage areas for others to recognize where to put these things up at.   You could also posts lists as well, if you find it to be more helpful.

Now wasn’t that simple?  Just follow these four steps in order; dump, toss, group and put up.  You are ready to  declutter your home.
