A clean uncluttered office increases the effectiveness and efficiency for the work produced.   Home office organization is key, whether you run a business, work from home, or even manage your home’s operations.   Tasks that eat up time are sorting through jumbled mess of  papers, to find that one document that you need.   If you want to save time and grow your personal productivity, or just have some free time, then here are to steps to take for home office organization.

Declutter and establish a cleaning schedule.  Clear your desk of clutter, and regularly clean and declutter.   Try 15 minutes of daily decluttering, at the bare minimum do at least 5.  Schedule clean-up at least once a week.  This is will allow to use your precious time, more effectively.    Managing your home office organization contributes to the future success of your life, home and business.   Now let’s focus on the problems areas of the office.

Filing systems are a fantastic tool to conquer paper clutter.   Establish a filing system in your home office.  This works best when you divide files up by category, then alphabetically.  Label your files appropriately.  File papers immediately when you are done with them.  This will allow you to locate them quickly.   Keep extra file folders on hand when new files need to be created.  Now we can move to the step and hot spot for home organization.
Computer files tend to build up rapidly, especially when you work online.  Choose a location on your computer, such as “My Documents,”  make folders for various categories.  The file name should be something that you will identify instantly.   Delete files and folders when they are no longer needed.
Following these steps will allow you to achieve home office organization.  The results you will experience is the ability to focus on your home and business, while increasing your productivity.
